MT. CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. – Nov. 21, 2018 – Today marks the start of the 2018-19 winter season at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. With ideal snowmaking conditions and favorable natural snowfall, Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is offering skiers and snowboarders the most early-season terrain in years.

Today is the third annual Donation Day at CBMR benefiting the Crested Butte Snowsports Foundation (CBSF). Skiers and snowboarders each received a lift ticket valid for today only after making a $15 donation toward the CBSF, and had access to terrain accessible by the Red Lady Express and Peachtree Lift. Open trails include beginner terrain such as Lower Keystone, Houston and Augusta, among others.

Beginning on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, skiers and riders will be able to enjoy approximately 130 acres of intermediate- and beginner-level terrain accessible by the Paradise Express, Red Lady Express and Peachtree Lift. Open trails include Paradise Bowl, Forest Queen, Ruby Chief,  Upper Park, trails accessible off of the Red Lady Express, Peachtree Lift and base area magic carpets. Terrain park features are available in the Keystone Jib Park.

This season marks the first time that CBMR has been able to open the Paradise Express on snowmaking alone, underscoring what a remarkable early season it has been and the excellent snowmaking capabilities at the resort.

All skiers and snowboarders must observe all posted signs, closures and slow zones, especially during the early-season. Closed trails may contain hazards due to early-season snow coverage. Accessing closed terrain is a violation of the Colorado Ski Safety Act and will result in the loss of skiing privileges and could involve prosecution and a fine.
