Vail Resorts announced today the introduction of the Epic SchoolKids program for the 2018-19 winter season at Whistler Blackcomb. Popular at the Company’s resorts in Colorado and Utah, the Epic SchoolKids Whistler Blackcomb Pack offers Canadian and Washington State kindergartners to grade five students five free days of skiing or snowboarding at Whistler Blackcomb, along with one free lesson and equipment rental for first-time skiers and snowboarders.

Hakuba Valley, Japan Is Now Epic

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced a long-term alliance with one of Japan’s largest and most renowned mountain resort regions —Hakuba Valley, located in the northern part of the Nagano Prefecture at the base of Japan’s Northern Alps and host to the 1998 Olympic Winter Games. Beginning with the 2018-19 season, the Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass and Epic Australia Pass will offer five consecutive complimentary days with no blackout dates at the nine ski resorts that comprise Hakuba Valley. It brings the Epic Pass total to 55 mountain resorts in eight countries, significantly more than any other season pass in the world.

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Epic Pass, 2018, Vail Resorts is honoring the epic service of the Company’s founders and men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, Canadian Armed Forces and Australian Defence Force, with the introduction of a special new USD$99 Military Epic Pass. Also, for every 2018-19 Vail Resorts season pass sold, the Company will donate USD$1 to Wounded Warrior Project®. Based on 2017-18 pass sales, the donation would exceed USD$750,000.

Vail Resorts Announces Plans for Historic Investment and New Gondola at Whistler Blackcomb to Further Enhance the Guest Experience for the 2018-19 Season

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) today announced that the Company plans to make an historic investment of CAD$66 million (USD$52 million) at Whistler Blackcomb this season focusing on three new lifts at the heart of the resort. This transformative investment features the addition of a new gondola on the Blackcomb side of the mountain, as well as several other lift infrastructure upgrades, providing quicker, easier access to all levels of terrain. The plan also represents the largest single-year capital investment program in the resort’s history, and the Company’s decision to accelerate the mountain improvements included in the Renaissance plan, while deferring consideration of the new water park.

Sunday, Nov. 19 is the deadline to purchase the Epic Pass, Whistler Blackcomb Unlimited Season Pass, 5- and 10-day EDGE Cards, Sea-to-Sky Pass and Student Pass. After Nov. 19, Season Passes and EDGE Cards will no longer be available for purchase for the 2017-2018 winter season.
