Vail Mountain to Open Friday, Nov. 20, for 2015-2016 Season with More than 1,000 Acres of Skiable Terrain

Recent snow storms bringing more than a foot of new snow and ideal snowmaking conditions are allowing Vail Mountain to add additional terrain for the 2015-2016 Opening Day on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015. The resort will operate nine lifts, accessing 1,150 skiable acres, which is as much terrain on an Opening Day as the resort has had in a decade. Game Creek Express (#7) and Game Creek Bowl will open during the day Friday.

Vail to Host Women’s-Specific Ski Fest in January

Inspired by the Norse goddess of winter, Vail Mountain will host SKADI Fest, an inaugural women’s ski event. From January 20-22, 2016, female skiers will be treated to customized on-mountain guided experiences with female instructors, evening VIP events, and female-specific ski equipment demos. Snow Storm Totals Reach 9 to 17 Inches in Less Than One Week at Colorado’s Four Major Ski Resorts

Summit County / Eagle County, Colo., Oct. 28, 2015 – With the arrival of an additional two to five inches of new snow during the past 24 hours, the week’s snow storm total has reached nine to 17 inches at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone.  Additional snow and cold temperatures are forecast for the approaching week, which offer conditions suitable for snowmaking at Colorado’s four major resorts.
