Vail Mountain’s New Kids Zip Line, Additional Hiking and Biking Trails Open, and Evening Operations Now Open
  • New kids zip line now open at Adventure Ridge
  • Evening summer operations begin today 
Vail, Colo. – June 26, 2014– Evening summer operations started today, Thursday, June 26, at Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world. Every Thursday through Saturday throughout the summer season, the Eagle Bahn Gondola will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for access to evening activities at Adventure Ridge and dinner at Bistro Fourteen and Game Creek Restaurant.
 
Adventure Ridge today debuted a new, single-line, 200-foot long zip line geared towards Vail’s youngest guests. Kids aged five and older, between 30 and 100 lbs, will enjoy flying through the air on this new summer activity. Guests can also look forward to a ropes challenge course designed especially for kids, which is planned to open later this summer at Adventure Ridge.
 
Open hiking and biking trails on Vail Mountain include Berrypicker, Big Mamba, Eagle’s Loop, Fireweed, Fred’s Lunch, Gitalong Road, Grand Escape, Hank’s Hideaway, Lion Down, Lucy’s Loop, Magic Forest, Mane Lane, Onza Alley, PMT, Ridge Route, Radio Flyer, Village Trail, and portions of Grand Traverse.
 
On-Mountain Dining
Bistro Fourteen opened today for summer operations, offering lunch daily as well as dinner Thursdays through Saturdays.
 
Game Creek Restaurant also opens this evening, offering après specials on the deck with spectacular views overlooking the Vail Valley, dinner Thursdays through Saturdays, and a sumptuous Sunday brunch through Sunday, Aug. 31.
 
Lift tickets are required to ride Gondola One and the Eagle Bahn Gondola during the summer and can be purchased at the Vail Village or Lionshead Ticket Offices. All 2014-2015 season pass holders receive unlimited, free scenic access to the both gondolas. Guests who have not yet secured a pass for next winter can purchase online at www.epicpass.com or visit any ticket office for more information.

Eagle Bahn Gondola:

*Bikes will be allowed up Gondola One until 4 p.m. and the Eagle Bahn Gondola until 6 p.m. as conditions permit.
 
As always, guests are reminded to obey all posted signs and closures. Helmets and sturdy shoes with a good tread are recommended for bicyclists at all times and all bikes must have two working hand brakes. All mountain bikers must obey the National Off-Road Bicycle Association (NORBA) code, printed on Vail Mountain’s summer trail map.
