PARK CITY, Utah – March 21, 2017 – Spring has officially sprung in Utah bringing longer days, bluebird skies and sunshine to Park City Mountain. In celebration of spring, the 10th annual Spring Grüv will kick off at Park City Mountain on March 25 for 16 straight days of free concerts and daily activities, including the 21st Annual Pond Skimming competition.

Pond Skimming is one of Park City’s wildest traditions. On April 8, contestants will attempt to skim across a 100-ft pond in front of Red Pine Lodge on skis or a snowboard. A panel of five judges will award prizes for best costume, best splash and crash and best overall male and female. Pond Skimming kicks off at noon and an après concert will immediately follow the event on the Canyons Village Stage.

In tandem with Spring Grüv, Park City Mountain’s Spring Concert Series will continue at both base areas every Saturday through April 16, weather permitting. Crystal Fighters and MAGIC GIANT headline this year’s spring series with concerts on March 25 (Park City Base, 6 p.m.) and April 1 (Canyons Village Stage, 3 p.m.). The music will wrap up on April 16 with Closing Day Concerts at both of Park City Mountain’s base areas. A full concert schedule is listed here.

Located just 35 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport, Park City Mountain is a world-class mountain destination providing more than 7,300 skiable acres of diverse terrain suited for every skier and rider. Guests planning a trip to Park City this spring can take advantage spring lodging deals and receive a Delta Air Lines flight voucher for up to an $800.
