Canyons Ski & Snowboard School
Introduces New Programming for 2013-14
New director Jeff Lifgren introduces Ultimate 4, expanded Canyons
Mountain Team & new locals weekend program

PARK CITY, UT(Nov. 11, 2013) –  Canyons Ski & Snowboard School, lauded annually for its high guest satisfaction scores and innovative teaching, introduces several new programs as Opening Day beckons on November 29.  Spearheading the change is new director Jeff Lifgren who has relocated to Park City from Colorado’s Breckenridge Resort just in time for the 2013-14 season.

With hundreds of instructors hailing from around the world, Canyons’ Ski & Snowboard School is one of the largest in Utah and serves locals and destination visitors alike.  From daycare to private lessons, specialty clinics, Canyons Mountain Team and the new Ultimate 4 program, participating in a Canyons Ski & Snowboard School program is increasingly a part of many guests’ experience.  A sampling of programs follows.  For detailed information, reservations, pricing and to reserve online, visitwww.canyonsresort.com.

*NewUltimate 4:New in 2013, four is the magic number.  With Ultimate 4 programs, group lessons are guaranteed to have no more than four people learning from Canyons’ highly trained instructors.  Ultimate 4 is a great way to accelerate child learning.  Beginner and Novice adults can also benefit from dedicated instructors’ attention on terrain especially suited for them.

Canyons Cubs, Cats & Carvers Introduce the youngest ones to the snow with the full-day daycare program (Canyons Cubs) or accelerate their learning and confidence with private and group lessons for children.  Canyons proudly offers the Ultimate 4 program for Canyons Cats (4-6 years old) and Canyons Carvers (7-12 years old), where a guaranteed 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio ensures individualized attention.  For more social children, Canyons Carvers group lessons have some of the finest instructors ensuring children enjoy the mountain – and new friends – as much as possible.

Adults & Teens: Whether a guest chooses private lessons, a group lesson or an Ultimate 4 small-group experience, Canyons offers a range of programs.  Beginners gain familiarity and confidence at the mid-mountain learning center at Red Pine Lodge.  Intermediate and Advanced skiers can benefit from a full day on snow – from powder to groomers to trees depending on experience – using the largest ski and snowboard resort in Utah as the classroom.  Specialty clinics include Holly Flanders’ women’s only camps led by World Champ & Olympian Holly Flanders; and First Tracks, the Tuesday/Saturday program that gives guests early access to the mountain with an Olympian (such as Canyons Ski Ambassador Kaylin Richardson) as the guide.

Locals Only Canyons offers Utah & Wyoming parents discounted lesson programs for children from preschool to age 14.  *NewCanyons Mountain Teamis the 12-week ski and snowboard program for children ages 4-14.  Designed to create the consistency and camaraderie, each group (depending on age and ability) will have the same coach the entire season. Group sizes are not guaranteed. The*NewCanyons Weekends program has no minimum or maximum number of days (bye, bye 5-pack) – parents just select the days and drop off their children in the care of Canyons’ expert coaches.

Little Adventures Childcare Center Finally, recognizing that new parents like to ski and ride too, the state-licensed Little Adventures Childcare Center returns in Grand Summit Hotel.  Little Adventures features a variety of indoor and outdoor activities (for children as young as 6 months), plus nap time, snack time and meals depending on the length of program.  Don’t forget to bring a special blanket or sleep toy for little ones to snuggle up with during nap time!
