With the 2014-15 winter season at a close, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort are gearing up for summer operations by announcing opening dates for the 2015 summer season.

Approvals Received for Park City Capital Improvement Plan

Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) announced that it received unanimous approval from the Park City Planning Commission to implement one of the most ambitious and impactful capital plans in the history of the U.S. ski industry for the 2015-16 season. The plan would establish the connection between Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort, creating the largest single ski area in the country with more than 7,300 acres of skiable terrain, and complete a number of critical upgrades to the infrastructure of both resorts. Park City’s approvals follow approvals from Summit County, Utah’s Synderville Basin Planning Commission in February.

Vail Resorts Announces Epic Local Pass Providing Access to America’s Largest Resort for as Low as $579

Season passes for the 2015-16 ski and snowboard season go on sale today and Vail Resorts’ Epic Local Pass will provide access to Park City Mountain Resort, which will be combined with Canyons Resort to create the largest resort in the country at 7,300 acres, for only $579.

The Farm Restaurant Named Top 25 in Utah

The Farm, located at Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah, earned a spot in the highly competitive annual Salt Lake Magazine Dining Awards, being recognized as a top 25 restaurant in the state of Utah.  Marking the 25th anniversary of the dining awards, the Magazine constructed a list of “Utah’s 25 best restaurants” in the state. The awards were granted in no particular order and equal recognition was given to all 25 that made the cut. The Farm is one of only two restaurants in Park City to receive the recognition.

Park City and Canyons Announce Spring Events Schedule

With Spring Break right around the corner, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort announce a schedule jam-packed with events through the end of the winter season. With favorites like Pond Skimming and Operation Smile Celebrity Ski Challenge returning to the schedule, and new family activities, events, and Easter celebrations, guests will find plenty of entertainment through spring in the mountains.

Canyons Resort Village now offers more variety in retail shopping than ever before with the addition of two new retail stores, SmartWool and The North Face. Both located in the Resort Village in the Sundial Lodge, SmartWool and The North Face offer a variety of apparel for skiing and lifestyle, including base layers, outerwear and more.

New Restaurant Opens at Canyons Resort

After a summer of construction and anticipation, Cloud Dine, Canyons’ new restaurant atop Dream Peak, is now officially open for the 2014-15 season. The completely restructured building, which was introduced to Canyons in 2011, features increased seating capacity of 41 percent, tallying 316 seats and an expanded outdoor deck. The cafeteria style restaurant is located on Dream Peak, at the top of the DreamCatcher and Dreamscape lifts.

Canyons Resort Celebrates the Holiday Season

With the holidays quickly approaching, Canyons Resort announced a new 10-day holiday festival, aptly named Decemberfest, to celebrate the 2014 Holiday season with guests. Decemberfest begins December 12 with activities and events through December 21. Festivities include live music both morning and après times, the annual Santa Skis Free event and a brand new resort village lighting ceremony. All events are free and open to the public.

Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort Announce EpicPromise Grants

Vail Resorts announced more than $1,300,000 in EpicPromise community grants to be awarded to 30 non-profit organizations based in Summit and Wasatch counties. These grants support youth program and environmental initiatives that provide basic needs, connect kids with the outdoors, rehabilitate popular trails and increase educational opportunities for all kids.
