NCAA Wrestling Champ and Adaptive Sports Hero to Try Skiing For the First Time in North Lake Tahoe

This weekend, MakeAHero.org and Northstar California™ Resort in North Lake Tahoe are partnering to introduce wrestling phenom Anthony Robles to snow for the very first time. Accompanied by his family, Robles will have his first experience on snow at Northstar, learning to ski from local adaptive sports instructor, Bill Bowness.

Northstar California™ Resort Opens ‘Idea Room’ in the Village at Northstar™

In an effort to elicit creative thinking and provide a place for resort employees and guests to generate, share and cultivate new ideas, Northstar California’s newest addition to the Village at Northstar is the “Idea Room.” A new meeting space located in the Village at Northstar, the Idea Room is a creative work space that features dry-erase walls, modular seating, a projector, and window coverings so that groups can brainstorm their next big idea as publicly or as privately ast hey desire.

Northstar California™ Resort to Host Tough Mudder Event September 22 & 23, 2012

Northstar California Resort today announced it will host the Tough Mudder event series in North Lake Tahoe on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23, 2012. Tough Mudder events are 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses, half a million inspiring participants, and more than $2.5 million dollars raised for the Wounded Warrior Project, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world.

Northstar California™ Resort to Host ‘S’moresapalooza’ This Weekend

Northstar California Resort is calling all s’mores enthusiasts to participate in S’moresapalooza in the Village at Northstar this weekend. An event first at Northstar, S’moresapalooza will feature a s’mores eating contest, s’mores stacking contest – to see who can build the largest s’mores stack – and a mass s’mores roast around the fire pits in the Village at Northstar. Resort guests are invited to participate in the festivities, scheduled to take place in the afternoon on Sunday, January 15.

Northstar California™ Resort to Open 22’ Shaun White Signature Superpipe This Weekend

Northstar today announced it will open its 22’ Shaun White signature Superpipe to the public for the first time tomorrow, Saturday, December 31. Featuring 22-Foot walls and a length of more than 500 feet, the Superpipe is located on the Cat’s Face trail accessible via the Vista Express chairlift, and unlike most Superpipes, was constructed completely of snow.

Vail Resorts Launches New Six-Resort “Play It Safe” Slope Safety Campaign

The Play It Safe campaign is a multi-faceted, comprehensive campaign aimed at addressing slope safety by communicating how guests can ski and snowboard more responsibly and still have a great time. All six of the Company’s resorts are implementing enhanced on-mountain Play It Safe messaging across a variety of channels and in critical locations, such as terrain park exits and areas where trails merge, to reach skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Vail Resorts is also working on video communications with sponsored Olympic and world champion ski and snowboard athletes Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White who share the company’s safety vision.
