Northstar California™ Resort to Open 22’ Shaun White Signature Superpipe This Weekend

Northstar today announced it will open its 22’ Shaun White signature Superpipe to the public for the first time tomorrow, Saturday, December 31. Featuring 22-Foot walls and a length of more than 500 feet, the Superpipe is located on the Cat’s Face trail accessible via the Vista Express chairlift, and unlike most Superpipes, was constructed completely of snow.

Vail Resorts Launches New Six-Resort “Play It Safe” Slope Safety Campaign

The Play It Safe campaign is a multi-faceted, comprehensive campaign aimed at addressing slope safety by communicating how guests can ski and snowboard more responsibly and still have a great time. All six of the Company’s resorts are implementing enhanced on-mountain Play It Safe messaging across a variety of channels and in critical locations, such as terrain park exits and areas where trails merge, to reach skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Vail Resorts is also working on video communications with sponsored Olympic and world champion ski and snowboard athletes Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White who share the company’s safety vision.

Northstar California™ Resort Announces Official Grand Opening of New Zephyr Lodge and Promised Land Express Chairlift

With $30 million in capital projects now complete, today Northstar hosted the official grand opening of its new on-mountain restaurant, the Zephyr Lodge, as well as the Promised Land Express, a new express quad chairlift providing access to two new trails and a new ski pod in the resort’s most popular terrain area.

Northstar California™ Resort Opening More Lifts, Trails and Lookout Mountain This Weekend

Mother Nature continues to offer cold temperatures, and Northstar’s snowmaking and grooming teams are taking full advantage of it. The resort announced today that it will open even more terrain this weekend, giving resort guests access to more than a quarter of its 97 trails, and the best snow surface conditions in Lake Tahoe. In addition, snowmaking efforts are nearing completion for the resort’s 22’ Shaun White signature Superpipe, with plans to open it over the Christmas holiday.

Northstar California Resort to put the efficiencies of its snowmaking system to work and is offering top-to-bottom skiing and riding.
