Don your mask and beads and bring your New Orleans appetite to celebrate Mardi Gras at Keystone Resort on Tuesday, February 24th. Keystone Resort’s Mardi Gras celebration features family activities, live music, a gumbo competition, bead sales, and a new kids’ bike and costume parade.
The kids’ bike parade kicks off the festivities at 1 p.m. Children up to 18 years of age are encouraged to arrive at the Silvermill Courtyard in River Run at noon to begin decorating their bicycles, tricycles, scooters or sneakers for the free parade. After the parade, kids will enjoy bounce houses, face painting, and Mardi Gras crafts.
Live music, a gumbo competition and street performers follow the parade at 2 p.m. The music of Louisiana native Curley Taylor will enliven River Run all afternoon with a free concert while guests sample gumbo and hurricanes to celebrate winter Big Easy style! Two prizes will be awarded in the gumbo competition: “Best Gumbo” and “People’s Choice.” Entry details are found at
