Keystone Resort Signs Andreas Wiig for the 2008-2009 Winter Season

KEYSTONE, Colo. –February 11, 2009 – Keystone Resort announces the signing of professional snowboarder and two-time ESPN Winter X Game gold medalist Andreas Wiig for the 2008-2009 winter season. Wiig’s stellar record and position as a leader in expanding and improving the sport of snowboarding make him a perfect match for Keystone’s award-winning terrain park, A51.

“Andreas Wiig representing Keystone Resort speaks to the caliber of terrain park Keystone offers,” said Christian Knapp, Director of Marketing at Keystone Resort. “A51 is one of the best parks in North America and both professionals and amateurs come from around the globe to ride in it.”

A regular in the early season at Keystone, Wiig jumped at the chance to ride for the resort on a year-round basis. Keystone’s commitment to providing an exceptional early season terrain park when most resorts around the country have yet to even open makes it a favorite destination for jibbers everywhere.

Andreas Wiig has competed in five Winter X Games, earning four medals including two gold. He has also taken first place in the Vail Session and first place on the Transworld Snowboarding Exposure meter and was an ESPY nominee for Best Male Action Sport Athlete.

Keystone’s A51 was ranked by readers of Transworld Snowboarding as the number one terrain park in Colorado and number four in the nation. Freeskier Magazine readers voted A51 the best park and pipe in their 2009 Awards Poll.

Up-coming A51 events include Tranworld Snowboarding's TransAM on February 21 and the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam on April 11.
