Keystone’s Kidtopia Spectacular Kicks-Off Holiday Season with Mountaintop Celebration

The Kidtopia Spectacular marks Keystone Resort’s first signature event of the winter, featuring a mountaintop celebration and free daily events from Dec. 15-24. Showcasing a variety of activities that make the resort a top winter playground for Colorado families, the Kidtopia Spectacular welcomes the holiday season with the grand opening of the world’s largest snow fort, followed by a week of festive fun. 

Jump into the action beginning Friday, Dec. 15, in one of the many bounce houses at the free Winter Wonderland Bounce Party inside the Keystone Lodge & Spa from 4:30-7:30 p.m., followed by a special fireworks display at Keystone’s Lakeside Village. On Saturday, Sept. 16, Ripperoo’s Village Parade welcomes a special guest from the North Pole, as Santa Claus and Keystone mascot Ripperoo lead the 4 p.m. parade through River Run Village before boarding the gondola to the top of the resort.

From 4:30-7 p.m., guests can enjoy a special lighting ceremony of Keystone’s famed snow fort and a mountaintop fireworks display, as well as free snow tubing, music, hot chocolate, photos with Santa, cookie decorating, meeting Ski Patrol rescue dogs, and much more, with activities taking place both indoors and outdoors. All activities are free, with a season pass, lift ticket or scenic pass needed to access the gondola. A schedule of events can be found at KeystoneResort.com.

Santa Claus is Coming to Keystone
The big guy himself will be on-hand throughout December, before he embarks upon his prior obligations. From leading parades and joining diners for brunch to resort-wide appearances, Santa Claus will be in resort Dec. 9, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 22, 23 and 24.

Play Like a Kid Again
Keystone’s Kidtopia activities continue to redefine the family ski resort experience with free activities and events every day of the week all season. The Kidtopia lineup includes activities such as the village parade and fireworks, family game nights, hands-on-learning activities, kid’s yoga, ice cream parties and meeting Keystone’s Ski Patrol rescue dogs.

Keystone Chocolate Village
Keystone Executive Pastry Chef Ned Archibald utilizes more than 7,500 pounds of imported chocolate for the Keystone Chocolate Village and it has been a hand-crafted holiday tradition at the resort for more than 20 years. Featuring a working chocolate gondola, cascading chocolate waterfall, four-foot tall chocolate Christmas tree, and many other winter scenes, this chocolate masterpiece is free to attend. Located in the lobby of the Keystone Lodge & Spa from Dec. 21, 2017-Jan. 7, 2018.

Spectacular Savings
Lodging rates begin at $179 per night for the Kidtopia Spectacular, including free skiing and snowboarding for all kids 12 and younger with any stay of two nights or more. All reservations also include free night skiing lift tickets, free ice skating admission and a free yoga or fitness class.

Kids Ski Free – Even During Holidays
Every day, all season long, kids 12 and younger ski for free at Keystone with no blackout dates. Simply book direct with the resort for two or more nights in one of Keystone’s numerous lodging accommodation options, which span from affordable hotel rooms to family-sized condominiums. More than 100,000 free kids’ lift tickets have been provided since the inception of the program in 2012.

Kidtopia Signature Event Series
Three special events held throughout the winter that complements the family experience at the resort. The event series begins with the Kidtopia Spectacular from Dec. 15-24, welcomes the first-ever Kidtopia Culinary Festival from Feb. 9-17, and culminates with the Kidtopia Music Experience from March 2-10.
