Keystone’s Annual Slush Cup Returns Sunday, April 9 Offering Thrills and Spills for All Ages

Keystone, Colo. – March 30, 2017 – Keystone Resort’s annual end-of-season Slush Cup returns on Sunday, April 9 with a family-friendly affair that features pond skimming competitions for both kids and adults. Participants put their skills to the test and launch themselves off a jump in attempts to skim across water and vie for top honors and prizes, including a $250 grand prize. Returning again this season, the Kidtopia Slush Cup will offer a separate, smaller pond for younger contestants ages 6-13. For more information, and to register in advance, visit KeystoneResort.com.

The Slush Cup begins at 11 a.m. in the Mountain House Base Area and features live music from Funky Johnson, a soulful blend of old and new that moves audiences to their feet. This annual end-of-season tradition at Keystone is full of spills and thrills, and a panel of highly-skilled judges will score competitors on distance, style, creativity and water resistance. Prizes will be awarded to top skimmers in the Slush Cup and Kidtopia Slush Cup for Best Overall and Best Costume.

The Keystone Slush Cup is open to participants ages 14 and up and the Kidtopia Slush Cup is for ages 6-13. Kids between the ages of 14-17 can choose to skim in either event. Registration is $30 for ages 14 and older, and kids 13 and younger are free. There is no admission for spectators. Space is limited and participants can register for the Slush Cup and Kidtopia Slush Cup in advance, online at KeystoneResort.com. Day-of registration will take place starting at 9:30 at the Mountain House base area lodge, but early registration is encouraged to guarantee a spot in the event.
