Keystone Resort to Expand Terrain Offerings for Saturday, Dec. 2
  • The Spring Dipper trail, Discovery learning area and more set to open
  • More than 2,300 vertical feet of skiing and riding, with top-to-bottom access to River Run and Mountain House

Keystone, Colo. — Dec. 2, 2016 — Beginning Saturday, Dec. 3, Keystone Resort will expand terrain offerings, including the addition of the intermediate Spring Dipper trail and the Discovery Learning Area at the Mountain House Base Area. Additional terrain openings will include the lower portion of Paymaster, the upper portion of Silver Spoon, Silvermaster, Jaybird, Ina’s Way and The Edge.
 
Skiers and riders will have access to more than 2,300 vertical feet of skiing and riding via the River Run Gondola, Summit Express Lift, Peru Express Lift, Montezuma Express Lift, Ranger Lift, Kokomo Carpet, Mid-Station Carpet and the Discovery Lift and Carpet.
 
The Keystone Ski & Ride School is offering lessons for all ability levels out of their River Run Village location, and lessons will also be available out of the Mountain House base area this weekend, Dec. 3-4. The Keystone Ski & Ride School will be open for daily operations at their Mountain House location beginning Dec. 10.
 
With cold weather and snow in the forecast, the resort looks forward to opening additional terrain as soon as possible.

Kidtopia: Unmatched Family Programming
Keystone’s Kidtopia continues to redefine the family resort experience with free activities and events on and off the snow every day of the week. Guests can look forward to some brand new activities that will join the Kidtopia lineup this year, in addition to family favorites like the Saturday parade and fireworks. Build your own snowman, attend an ice cream birthday party with Ripperoo, catch a movie matinee at Kidtopia headquarters, march in the village parade and much more – the possibilities are endless for kids at Keystone!
 
The New Kidtopia Mountaintop Spectacular – Dec. 16-18
This winter Keystone presents the inaugural Kidtopia Mountaintop Spectacular Dec. 16-18, a weekend of festive on-mountain fun for the entire family. This free event will showcase a variety of activities and Kidtopia programs that make the resort a top destination for families, including nightly firework displays, a torchlight ski parade led by Keystone’s Ski & Ride School, and a mountaintop celebration where guests can enjoy free snow tubing, snowcat photo opportunities, live music, hot cocoa and fireside stories with Santa. Kidtopia will animate the mountaintop with Bigfoot adventure walks and a ski patrol-dog meet and greet, plus a special lighting ceremony of the world’s largest Snow Fort to create an unforgettable weekend.
 
Colorado Family Ski Month
Keystone Resort presents the inaugural Colorado Family Ski Month this December, a family-friendly celebration of the winter activities that define living in the Centennial State. Whether a lifelong resident or recent transplant, the first-ever event is the perfect showcase of all things Keystone for Coloradans. Keystone’s All Aglow with Night Skiing
With the longest ski day in all of Colorado, at Keystone families can enjoy the star-filled sky as they ski and snowboard on the resort’s multiple lighted trails. Open until 8 p.m., Keystone’s night skiing is a unique option, found at very few resorts, and allows for more time on the slopes. Night Skiing will be offered Dec. 2-3, 9-10, Dec. 16-Jan. 1 and then every Wednesday-Sunday through the end of March.
 
Santa Claus is Coming to Keystone
The big guy himself will be on-hand beginning Dec. 4, and will make appearances at Keystone throughout December before he embarks upon his prior obligations. Photo opportunities, skiing, parades, a family-friendly Brunch and the Mountaintop Spectacular, Santa Claus will be in resort Dec. 4, 10, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23 and 24.
