Breckenridge Spring Fever Continues This Week with Easter Fun and More

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — April 15, 2014 — With snow in the forecast through Friday followed by a sun filled weekend - spring skiing is at its best as Breck’s Spring Fever Festival enters a third week of events. This weekend’s events include something for everyone from the Spring Fever Park Jam to Easter festivities on Sunday.
 
Sunday will be a family-filled day of Easter events, starting with a sunrise service on Peak 9, then an on-mountain Easter egg hunt on Peaks 8 and 9. This year, the on-mountain Easter egg hunt is exclusively for kids, with two fenced in areas on each peak for toddlers and kids 10 and younger.  
 
The full line-up of this week’s Spring Fever events is as follows:
 
Friday, April 3
Spring Fever Park Jam in Freeway and Park Lane, Noon to 3p.m.
For the last three Fridays of Spring Fever, Breck parks will host rail jams in Freeway and Park Lane terrain parks. Come check out the competition and listen to some great tunes courtesy of DJ DC. The grill will be going with some free hot dogs. No sign-up is required, so anyone can compete! Prizes for winners include a $100 American Express gift card or a 2015-16 Epic Local Pass.

Saturday, April 4
Spring Fever Beer and Chili Cookoff at Sevens, Noon to 4p.m.
Sevens Restaurant will heat up on Saturday as the top chefs from Breck face off against each other to see whose recipe is best. Join the chefs on the Sevens patio starting at noon, indulge in all the chili you can handle and vote for your favorite recipe - all for only $20 per person. New this year, chefs will suggest a beer to pair with their chili! Tickets will be available on site at the event.
 
Sunday, April 5
Easter Sunrise Services at TenMile Station (via Quicksilver chair), 6-7a.m.
Be there for one of the most spectacular settings for an Easter service on Earth! At 6a.m. on Easter Sunday, load the Quicksilver lift (Peak 9) up to a special location for the free sunrise service. No lift ticket required; ski equipment will not be allowed up the chair. Dress warmly for the chair ride and be a part of this service; coffee and pastries will be available for purchase on location at Ten Mile Station.
 
Easter Egg Hunt at Peak 8 and Peak 9 bases, 9:30a.m.
The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs at the Peaks 8 and 9 bases, just in time for Easter! Join Breck for an amazing morning of egg-hunting before getting the ski day started. This year, the on-mountain Easter egg hunt is exclusively for kids, with two fenced in areas on each peak for toddlers and kids 10 and younger. Look for signage on Sunday pointing out the specific areas where eggs are hidden.
 
Rocky Mountain Masters Super G and Giant Slalom Ski Races on Cimarron
The Rocky Mountain Masters Ski races are back for a second year at Breckenridge. Masters levels racers will compete in both Super G and Giant Slalom on Peak 10’s Cimarron. For additional information check out the Rocky Mountain Masters site at rmmskiracing.org.
 
Other Breck Spring Fever 2015 signature events will include:
• The Bud Light Concert Series, with national acts performing live on April 11, 12, 18 and 19 on a specially-constructed stage on the mountain, at the Peak 8 base
• The 19th Annual Imperial Challenge - bike, uphill and downhill triathlon on April 11
