BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Dec. 21, 2016 — Thanks to the more than six feet of snow that has fallen on Breckenridge Ski Resort throughout December 2016, Breckenridge is excited to announce the opening of Imperial Express SuperChair, the highest chairlift in North America. Imperial Express SuperChair gives skiers and snowboarders access to some of Breck’s famous above tree line terrain in Imperial Bowl.

The Imperial Express SuperChair tops out at 12,840 feet after a quick 2.7 minute ride to the top of Imperial Bowl. The chairlift offers easy access to three high-alpine bowls and hike-to access to the renowned Lake Chutes, Snow White, Whale’s Tail and Peak 7 Bowl areas, once those areas open.

Breckenridge Ski Resort expects all of its five peaks to be open by Friday, Dec. 23 just in time for holiday skiers and snowboarders. More than 70 inches of snow has fallen in December, total month-to-date snowfall to 183 percent of average – favorably above average. Breckenridge is also at more than 100 percent of average snowfall season-to-date with more than eight feet of snow so far this season.
