Breck’s Peak 6 to Open Friday Dec. 7 – Its Earliest Opening Ever!
Share:

Today, Breckenridge Ski Resort announced that Peak 6 will open on Friday Dec. 7, making it the earliest opening date in history for the resort’s newest peak that first opened in 2013. This latest terrain opening continues the trend of record milestones for the resort this winter season, and follows shortly after the earliest opening ever for the Imperial Express SuperChair on Thanksgiving Day. With the opening of Peak 6, skiers and riders will have access to more than 2,100 acres of terrain across Peaks 6, 7, 8 and 9.

Coming off a recent storm cycle that dropped more than a foot of new snow at Breck, the resort is also hitting records for snowfall with 110 inches having fallen prior to December – the most early season snowfall on record at Breck. Season-to-date snowfall at the resort since mid-October is at more than 120 inches, or more than 10 feet.

Breck anticipates opening Peak 10 very soon, and will then offer skiing and riding across all Five Peaks at the resort.

  • 2015-16 season: Dec. 19
