Breck Hosts Extreme Weather Town Hall Event Moderated by Paul Goodloe from the Weather Channel

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Jan. 3, 2017 — Breckenridge Ski Resort and the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Breckenridge invite the public to join an engaging and fascinating evening of discussion around extreme weather, moderated by the Weather Channel’s Paul Goodloe  on Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 6-7 p.m. in the Columbine room at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Breckenridge. Mr. Goodloe will be joined by a panel of leading scientists from across the nation, including Colorado scientists Dr. Jim White, Director of the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research and a Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences and Environmental Studies Program at the University of Colorado, as well as Dr. Rick Knabb, Director of the National Hurricane Center to name a few.

This town hall-type event is part of the 2017 Glen Gerberg Climate and Weather Summit and is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be an interactive opportunity to speak with the scientists, ask questions and engage in critical conversations. The full list of experts includes:

  • Dr. Mitch Goldberg, Lead Scientist for the NOAA JPSS Satellite
  • Mr. Deke Arndt, National Center for Environmental Information (NCEI)
  • Dr. Rick Knabb, Director, National Hurricane Center
  • Mr. Greg Carbin, NOAA Weather Prediction Center (WPC)
  • Dr. Jim White, Arctic Researcher, University of Colorado
  • Dr. Ben Strauss, Climate Central
  • Dr. Howie Bluestein, Tornado Researcher University of Oklahoma
  • Dr. Madhulika “Lika” Guhathakurta, NASA Heliophysics Scientist

Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event start. Complimentary parking is available in the Beaver Run Lot across the street from the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Breckenridge.
