Breckenridge Ski Resort Post-Season Operations and Uphill Travel Reminders
Breckenridge, CO – Monday, April 25, 2016 – Breckenridge Ski Resort’s ski season officially ended on Sunday, April 24, but resort operational teams will remain active with end-of-winter procedures as well as summer season preparation. Operational activities including and not limited to snow clearing, heavy machinery use or construction projects may be in progress throughout the resort; current operational restrictions and recommended travel routes can be obtained by calling the trails/winch cat hotline at (970) 547-5627.
Breckenridge is operated under a special use permit from the U.S. Forest Service; the following restrictions and recommendations are in place for those looking to enjoy their public lands.

- Uphill travel is allowed on designated routes (avalanche mitigation will not be conducted after April 24)
- Peak 7 - Fort Mary B > Claimjumper > Lower Forget Me Not > top of Independence chair - return down the same route
- Peak 8 - Springmeier > Upper 4 O’clock > Lonewolf Access > T-Bar Hut – return down the same route
- Peak 8 – Gondola Ski Back > Lower 4 O’clock > Springmeier
- Peak 8 – Lower 4 O’clock from town > Springmeier
- Peak 9 - Silverthorne > Lower American > Bonanza > top Beaver Run chair or top of Mercury chair - return down same route
- Peak 10 - Silverthorne > Red Rover > Crystal > top of Falcon chair – return down the same route
- Recommendations once the mountain is closed to the public for skiing and snowboarding:
- Call Breck’s trails/wench cat hotline (970) 547-5627
- Wear clothing with reflective materials
- Ensure you are visible from above
- Keep to the side of the trail
- Carry a light
- Avoid all areas where machines are operating
- Note that ski area services and medical care are not available
- Backcountry travelers are strongly encouraged to visit the Colorado Avalanche Information Center at Avalanche.State.CO.US for current snowpack information as Breckenridge Ski Patrol will not be conducting avalanche mitigation.
- Prohibited snow recreation at Breckenridge Ski Resort:
- Examples of prohibited recreation at Breckenridge include, and are not limited to: snowmobiles, fat tire snow bikes, mountain bikes, snow skates, sleds, disks, toboggans, or power-driven mobility devices.
- Recreational drone use, Small Unmanned Air Vehicle (SUAV) or remote-controlled air vehicle use by any guest or member of the public, for any reason, is not permitted on the resort's property.
