Event to Feature World’s Premier International Snowboard and Freeski Athletes Competing in Slopestyle, Superpipe and Streetsyle
Snowboard Streetstyle Competition Returns to Downtown Breckenridge


Burr Ridge, Ill.  November 21, 2014 – The Dew Tour Mountain Championships, the signature annual winter action sports event, returns to the Breckenridge Ski Resort in Breckenridge, Colo. December 11-14. The four-day event will feature many of the world’s premier international snowboard and freeski athletes competing in men’s and women’s freeski slopestyle, freeski superpipe, snowboard slopestyle, snowboard superpipe and men’s snowboard and freeski streetstyle.

The 2014 event will reunite top snowboard and freeski athletes from the Sochi Olympics, including all eight superpipe and slopestyle gold medalists, in the first major competition of the season. In addition to the events taking place on Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 8, on Friday, December 12, fans will have the opportunity to catch some Mountain Championships action in downtown Breckenridge, when the Dew Tour holds its annual snowboard streetstyle competition on the city streets. The Mountain Championships will take over Washington Avenue with an all-new 2014 streetstyle course which incorporates rails, stairs and other various elements.

ATHLETES
As previously announced, the Dew Tour Mountain Championships will reunite an outstanding fifteen medalists from the Sochi Olympic Games. Notable athletes in the snowboard superpipe competition include men’s gold medalist Iouri Podladtchikov and silver medalist Ayumu Hirano, as well as women’s gold medalist Kaitlyn Farrington and bronze medalist Kelly Clark. In the snowboard slopestyle events, all eyes will be on men’s gold medalist Sage Kotsenburg and bronze medalist Mark McMorris, while gold, silver and bronze medalists Jamie Anderson, Enni Rukajarvi and Jenny Jones, respectively, will be the ones to watch in the women’s competition.
           
Top competitors in the men’s freeski superpipe competition include Olympic gold medalist David Wise, silver medalist Mike Riddle and bronze medalist Kevin Rolland. The Sochi Olympics women’s freeski superpipe podium of Maddie Bowman, Marie Martinod and Ayana Onozuka will also be facing off against each other in Breckenridge. In addition, all medalists from the men’s and women’s Sochi Olympics freeski slopestyle competition will be at the Dew Tour, including men’s gold medalist Joss Christensen, men’s silver medalist Gus Kenworthy, men’s bronze medalist Nick Goepper, women’s gold medalist Dara Howell, women’s silver medalist Devin Logan, and women’s bronze medalist Kim Lamarre.
