Experience and Explore Alpine World Ski Championships InterX Pavilion and Race-Influenced Ski Lessons
Beaver Creek, Colo., Feb. 6, 2015 — During the most exciting event of the winter season, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, Beaver Creek Village hosts the InterX Pavilion at the center of the ice rink where guests can compete for the leaderboard on the life-like ski simulator, collect racer trading cards, eat, drink, dance and celebrate a different country each day. This heated structure is filled to the brim with splashes of diverse world-culture, high-octane entertainment and up-to-date race information made for all ages. InterX is open every day through the World Championships, Feb. 2-15 in the village.

The InterX Pavilion opens at 7 a.m. each morning offering breakfast with options like coffee, assorted beverages, convenient Grab & Go breakfast burritos provided by Rocks Modern Grill and organic smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal and more from Green Elephant Juicery. InterX displays pre-race updates for race-goers on the numerous big screens and even has activities for kids, a perfect stop before heading to Red Tail Stadium or the mountain to ski. A full bar will open early, serving beer, wine and hot beverages. Afternoon Grab & Go items include soups, grilled cheese sandwiches and salads provided from It's All Good Gourmet. Decorated with flags from the race’s participating countries, the InterX Pavilion will celebrate a country a day with free food and drink samples 30 minutes after the races end each day or 2 p.m. on non-race days until supplies last. You can find out which country will be celebrated each day at www.beavercreek.com/InterX. InterX turns into Club InterX for an après party each day with live DJ, dance floor and prize giveaways.

As if watching racers launch themselves downhill at top speeds wasn’t enough, guests can now see what it’s like by trying #ChallengeTheChampions ski simulator. Guests can strap in for free and immediately experience the thrill of running the Birds of Prey and Raptor race courses. The course is displayed on a large screen in front of the racer and the racer puts ski boots on their feet; the SkyTechSport simulator mimics downhill G-force effects of a real slope, vibrations, compressions, well-carved turns and snow conditions. Participants will be racing against times from the day’s top finishers, and leaderboard champions will be crowned at the end of the two week Alpine World Ski Championships. Simulator is open from 12 to 5 p.m. each day and racers can wear their own ski boots or snowboard boots or use ones provided.

Racer Roundup is offered each day, where guests collect racer trading cards from locations in the village and once 15 are collected, cards will be validated with an official 2015 collectible sticker inside the InterX Pavilion and a prize-pack will be given out. Prize-pack includes a 2015 fanny pack (in celebration of the 1989 World Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek), a fleece bandana (in celebration of the 1999 World Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek) and touch-screen gloves (in celebration of the 2015 World Championships happening now in Vail/Beaver Creek.) Visit the InterX Pavilion for the list of locations.
