Beaver Creek Weekend Storm
Beaver Creek, Colo. Oct. 8, 2011 – An early October winter storm is blanketing the slopes of Beaver Creek today and Mother Nature is providing an artistic contract between the fresh snow and still golden aspen leaves. Snowmakers are busy preparing to fire up snowmaking systems in the coming week.

For winter enthusiasts this means dusting off the gear and planning for Beaver Creek’s opening day on Wednesday, Nov. 23, which is also the eighth annual Beaver Creek Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition. Cookie Competition submissions will be accepted from Oct. 17-21 and then the top five finalists chosen will serve a total of 5,000 cookies to hungry skiers and riders to be voted on promptly at 2 p.m. opening day. The winning recipe will be honored with the title of the Official Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe of Beaver Creek. The resort bakes and serves around 400,000 cookies annually for the signature program, Cookie Time, where warm chocolate chip cookies are served to guests daily at 3 p.m. For details visit www.beavercreek.com or call 877.204.7883.
