Beaver Creek Summer Activities Begin Saturday, June 14
· Summer Adventure Center opens June 14 featuring Beaver Creek Hiking Center, High Mountain Adventure 4x4 tours and Gem Panning

· New Strawberry Park Express Lift scenic summer lift rides begin July 1
 
Beaver Creek, Colo. June 9, 2014 – Beaver Creek summer mountain adventures begin Saturday, June 14 featuring guided interpretive nature hikes for all ability levels through the specialized Beaver Creek Hiking Center, along with High Mountain Adventure 4X4 Tours and Gem Panning that can be booked through the Summer Adventure Center. Scenic summer lift rides will begin on the Strawberry Park Express Lift (#12) on Tuesday, July 1. The area surrounding the Strawberry Park Express Lift falls under the U.S. Forest Service elk calving closure, which ends June 30.

The Beaver Creek Hiking Center will be open daily June 14-Sept. 1 and weekends only Sept. 6-28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. With more than 100 years of combined hiking experience on staff, the professional guides share their passion and appreciation for the Colorado Rockies with guests of all ages. Take the complimentary Nature Valley hike with your family, explore the mountain on the Beaver Creek Mountain Hike, or enjoy the Lift and Picnic Hike which includes a hike to Beaver Lake and a picnic lunch. The Beaver Creek Hiking Center is one of a select number of outfitters that holds a permit to climb Colorado 14ers; let their guides help you check climbing a14er off your bucket list this summer. All hikes and tours include transportation, a professional guide, use of Salomon packs and boots, Leki hiking poles, rain gear, drinks and Nature Valley granola bars. Additional equipment, including child-carrying backpacks, is available to rent. Private tours are also available with a reservation. High Mountain 4X4 Adventure Tours on Beaver Creek Mountain provide a unique way to explore the geological beauty of the Rockies and learn more about flora, fauna and wildflowers, while taking in the area’s amazing views via motorized vehicle.

High Mountain Adventure Tour options:
· 90-minute tour: $55 per person;
· Lift & Tour: $65 per person including lift ticket;
· Lunch & Tour: $65 per person including a $15 summer lunch voucher for Mamie’s; and,
· Lift, Lunch & Tour: $75 per person including scenic ride lift ticket and $15 lunch voucher for Mamie’s.

Beaver Creek Kids Day Camp is open weekdays from now through Aug. 29 offering kids 5 to13 an array of suitable outdoor adventures designed specifically to explore, educate and entertain campers all summer long. Children ages 5 to 7 participate in face painting, pony rides, panning for gold, sports and martial arts. Kids ages 8 to13 experience a changing schedule of challenging activities led by counselors and guides with activities including canoeing, archery, kayaking, swimming and hiking. Gem Panning provides a fun and interactive activity for kids to pan for a variety of rocks, fool’s gold and gems. Located on the lawn adjacent to the Buckaroo Gondola, tickets are $12 and Gem Panning will be offered beginning June 14 from 12-5 p.m. daily.

Explore the mountain via horseback with Beaver Creek Stables, which offers one- and two-hour trail rides, three-hour picnic rides and trail rides to Beaver Lake. Rides are available for ages 7 and up. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (970) 845-7770.

The Beaver Creek Tennis Center, located adjacent to the Highlands Lodge in Beaver Creek Village, is open through Sept. 29. The facility features five Har-Tu clay courts and two hard courts, a variety of programs as well as a complete pro shop that specializes in men’s and women’s tennis racquets, attire and accessories.

Beaver Creek offers member and guest play on three championship golf courses at Beaver Creek Golf Club and Red Sky Ranch. All three courses are Audubon Sanctuary Certified.  For details on Stay & Play deals at both courses visit www.beavercreek.com.

Nestled at 9,000 feet on the flanks of Larkspur Bowl, Beano’s Cabin features a truly unique dining experience Wednesday through Saturday evenings during the summer. Guests can arrive by horseback for early reservations, or ride via tractor-pulled wagon or shuttle. Chef Bill Greenwood combines eco-friendly production techniques with his creative flavors, cultivated in his upbringing in his father’s restaurant in Atlanta. Chef Greenwood has garnered national attention showcasing his butchering technique at a variety of esteemed events including Cochon 555 events in Colorado. Scenic Lift Rides and Lunch at Mamie’s
As a result of the Centennial Lift replacement and following the U.S. Forest Service elk calving closure, Beaver Creek’s Strawberry Park Express Lift (#12) will open Tuesday, July 1 for the season providing an entirely new scenic summer lift ride experience on a different part of the mountain. This unique opportunity will bring guests to the top of Strawberry Park where they can choose to hike the one mile across the ridge down to Mamie’s Mountain Grill for lunch on the sunny, scenic deck overlooking McCoy Park, play disc golf on the relocated course, or soak in the views from the top of the lift. Transportation will also be available to carry guests to and from Mamie’s. Lunch options will include burgers, reserve steaks, portabella mushroom, asparagus and more.

Due to the modified summer lift activity this year, there will be no lift-served mountain biking offered. Special mountain bike trips may be arranged in conjunction with High Mountain Adventure 4X4 Tours and advance reservations are required; tours will be based on availability. 
Scenic summer lift rides will take place daily July 1 to Sept.1 and then weekends only Sept. 6-28, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather-permitting.

Scenic Lift Rides:
· Adult (ages 13-64) scenic lift ride: $26
· Adult scenic lift ride + lunch: $32 (includes $15 summer lunch voucher for Mamie’s Mountain Grill)
· Senior (age 65+)/ Active Military scenic lift ride: $21
· Senior (age 65+)/ Active Military scenic lift ride + lunch: $27
· Additional Child: $19. (Up to three kids 12 and under ride for free with a paying adult)
· Summer Scenic Ride Pass: $90
