2015 World Championships Organizers Welcome Four More Headlining Artists to Free World Championships Concerts Lineup

VAIL, Colo. – Jan. 21, 2014 – 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Organizing Committee is pleased to add four more headlining names to its free concert lineup for the Championships, including CeeLo Green, KC and the Sunshine Band, Craig Wayne Boyd and Andreas Gabalier.  This latest announcement leaves just a few spots still to fill during the two weeks of the event.

Summer Houston Flights return to Eagle County Regional Airport for 2015

Vail, Colo. – Dec. 29, 2014 – The EGE Air Alliance today announced the continuation of summer service operated by United Airlines from Houston (IAH) to Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) three days a week for summer 2015. The nonstop flights will operate from Houston to EGE Thursday, Saturday and Sunday with southbound service from EGE to Houston on Friday, Sunday and Monday. Service will operate June 25 through Aug. 17, 2015.

More Than Five Feet of Snow Covers Vail Mountain in Less Than Two Weeks

VAIL, Colo. – Dec. 27, 2014 – Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, is poised to ring in 2015 with a bang after more than five feet of snow has covered the slopes in less than two weeks. Visitors to the resort are now basking in 62” of snow that has fallen since Dec. 14 and more than 5,280 acres of developed ski and snowboard terrain on the mountain.

Operating Hours Extended on Vail Mountain Beginning Friday, Dec. 19

VAIL, Colo. – Dec. 15, 2014 – Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, will move to its winter morning operating schedule beginning Friday, Dec. 19.  With the shift in operating hours, the majority of front side lifts will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 3:30 p.m. The Back Bowls and Game Creek as well as Blue Sky Basin will open as soon as lifts and terrain are ready. The Back Bowls and Game Creek will continue to close at 3 p.m.; Blue Sky Basin will close at 2:30 p.m. Lift operating hours are posted at the base of all open lifts and are subject to change with conditions.

Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek Resort, CME and Vail Resorts Retail award EpicPromise grants to 54 non-profit partners in Eagle County

Vail, Colo. – Dec. 12, 2014 – For the 2014-15 season, Vail Resorts has awarded more than $2,700,000 in EpicPromise community grants to 54 non-profit organizations based in Eagle County as part of its annual grant cycle. The EpicPromise grants support youth program and environmental initiatives that provide basic needs, connect kids with the outdoors, rehabilitate popular trails and increase educational opportunities for all kids.

The Third Annual Eagle County Avalanche Awareness Series Begins Monday, Dec. 15

VAIL, Colo. – Dec. 12, 2014 – The Vail and Beaver Creek Ski Patrols will kick off the third annual Eagle County Avalanche Awareness Series on Monday, Dec. 15 from 7-9 p.m. at the Vail Cascade Resort in a continued effort to educate the community about snow and avalanche safety.

Vail Mountain Announces Plans to Replace the Avanti Express Lift (#2) With Six Passenger Lift

VAIL, Colo. – Dec. 8, 2014 – Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, plans to continue its wave of tremendous investments with the replacement of the Avanti Express Lift (#2) with a six-passenger lift this summer, pending U.S. Forest Service approval. The Avanti Express Lift (#2) is a primary lift on the front side of Vail Mountain, serving intermediate and advanced terrain and dispersing skiers and snowboarders from Lionshead to mid-mountain. Upgrading the lift will reduce wait times and improve reliability.
