Vail Marriott Mountain Resort Welcomes New General Manager, Kellie Newman

BROOMFIELD, Colo., February 12, 2014– Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kellie Newman as General Manager of the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort.
 
“We are excited to welcome Kellie to our team,” said Bryan Austin, Vice President Eagle County Hospitality for Vail Resorts. “She brings excellent experience in hospitality operations as well as meetings and events, which are critical aspects of the guest experience at Vail Marriot Mountain Resort.”
 
Newman began her career with Marriott in 1991 as a housekeeping intern at Marriott’s Tan-Tar-A Resort. After graduating from Purdue University, Kellie worked at Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, as well as other Marriott hotels in the Chicago area in Room Operations as well as Sales, eventually becoming the Director of Event Booking Center in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2000, Kellie moved to Marriott International Corporate Headquarters,  leading to an opportunity to open the London Sales Office in 2003. Kellie returned to the operations side as Director of Rooms Operation at Orlando Marriott World Center Resort and Convention Center. She has served as General Manager for the Renaissance Charleston Hotel Historic District and, currently, Denver Marriott West.
 
Throughout her hospitality career, Kellie has served on numerous industry boards, chambers and associations, as well as multiple advisory councils within the Marriot organization.
 
Kellie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, biking and camping. Kellie, her husband and their two children are looking forward to taking advantage of everything that the Vail Valley has to offer.
