Colorado Mountain Express Donates Van to Keystone Science School as Part of EpicPromise Program
EDWARDS, Colo., Nov. 13, 2014 – As part of Vail Resorts’ EpicPromise program, Colorado Mountain Express (CME) is partnering with Keystone Science School (KSS) by donating a 15-passenger Ford E350 van to the school.

Keystone Science School runs youth educational programs which are dependent upon offsite travel to teach scientific principles and leadership skills to young people, teachers and community members through engaging hands-on field experiences.

“We are so grateful for CME’s donation of a van through Vail Resorts’ EpicPromise,” said Ellen Reid, Keystone Science School’s executive director. “This new van will enable us to transport even more students to the countless beautiful places in and around Summit County, positively impacting local youth as well as students across the state and country.”

Colorado Mountain Express is proud to have presented this year’s donated van to Keystone Science School. “Between programs like this, participation in EpicPromise Day and our annual Fill the Van Food Drive, we are always looking for ways to give back to the community,” said Robert C. Tschupp, vice president and general manager of Colorado Mountain Express. “Every year, CME sells some of its vehicles and buys new ones to keep the fleet ’fresh,’” Tschupp said. “A few years ago we decided it would be great to donate one every year.”

This is the third year that CME and Vail Resorts has donated one van each year for the past three years to a deserving nonprofit organization in Summit or Eagle County. Last year, a van was donated to Friends of Dillon Ranger District, and the previous year, to SOS Outreach.“Instead of giving these organizations a check, it makes more sense for us to donate a van,” Tschupp said.

Additionally, EpicPromise supports KSS through its annual grant program. EpicPromise is Vail Resorts’ new sustainability brand which includes all of the Company’s environmental and community giving efforts. Through the brand, Vail Resorts contributes more than $7 million each year in cash and product donations to critical non-profits that carry out youth and environmental programs in the communities where the Company operates.
