DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge Honored with Two Prestigious Awards for Environmental Sustainability and Business Leadership
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo., March 17, 2014 – The DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge was recently awarded two DoubleTree by Hilton Awards of Excellence, an ongoing tradition that recognizes hotels that CARE, by creating a rewarding experience for others, and exhibits quality and excellence within the brand.
The first award, the Living Sustainably Environmental CARE Award, was presented to the DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge for displaying outstanding commitment to implementing and demonstrating sustainability and environmental outreach efforts that impact guests as well as the local community.
The DoubleTree in Breckenridge exemplifies environmental stewardship through its everyday commitments to energy reduction, including LED and motion controlled lighting, low-flow shower heads and faucets, reusable linen program and rechargeable batteries for all A/V equipment. Additionally, the hotel has an extensive recycling program for waste, including re-using and recycling all used shampoos, conditioners and soaps for donation to Clean the World. The hotel’s restaurant, 9600 Kitchen, is a farm to table concept featuring locally sourced ingredients as well as herbs grown on-site in the hotel’s greenhouse.
The second award went to Breckenridge local and four-year DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge employee Brandy Sawyer, who was named the Director of Sales/Director of Business Development of the Year. This award is nomination-based and recognizes individuals that best represent the Hilton Worldwide Values of Hospitality, Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Ownership and Now.
