Lindsey Vonn’s School of Shred is Back Offering Colorado 5th and 6th Graders up to 20 Free Days of Unrestricted Skiing and Snowboarding
  • Colorado 5th and 6th graders can sign up for “The School of Shred” for four free days of skiing each at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin
BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Sep. 19, 2014 – As more signs of fall appear, turning Coloradans’ thoughts to the upcoming winter ski and snowboard season, none capture the youthful imagination like the return of Lindsey Vonn’s School of Shred, offering 5th and 6th grade students the best deal on skiing and snowboarding in Colorado.

Vail Resorts will continue to offer Colorado 5th and 6th grade students four free unrestricted days of skiing or snowboarding at each of its Colorado resorts – Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone, plus four free days at Arapahoe Basin – through The “School of Shred” program. In addition, first-timers will receive one complimentary beginner ski or snowboard lesson and rental equipment which can be used from Jan. 5-31, 2015 as part of “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.” Parents can enroll their 5th and 6th graders in the “School of Shred” program now through Nov. 23, 2014.

The “School of Shred” program was introduced by Vail Resorts in 2008 and is designed to help inspire a lifelong passion for the outdoors and an active lifestyle for kids throughout Colorado. Principal of the “School of Shred” is none other than decorated alpine ski racing champion and Olympic gold medalist, Lindsey Vonn.

“Every child in Colorado should have the chance to learn how to ski or snowboard in this beautiful backyard of theirs,” said Vonn.  “It’s so important for kids to get involved with sports in general at a young age. To be able to offer them the opportunity to ski and snowboard for free is something I think all Colorado kids and families should take advantage of this winter.”

To receive the 5th or 6th grade “School of Shred” pass, valued at nearly $400, a parent or guardian must present documentation proving eligibility (report card or school ID indicating grade level for the current school year or a valid birth certificate) at a resort season pass office or any Front Range Vail Resorts’ pass sales location during the fall pass sales time period. Students must be present at time of purchase to get their photo taken for their Vail Resorts “School of Shred” pass.
