Kasten Named Senior Communications Manager for Northstar California™ Resort
Truckee, California- July 26, 2013- Northstar California Resort announced the appointment of Loryn Kasten, a 13-year public relations professional, to Senior Communications Manager for the resort effective Monday, July 22nd.
 
“We are thrilled to have Loryn join the Lake Tahoe team,” said Bill Rock, chief operating officer for Northstar. “Her extensive public relations experience in the resort and ski industry will allow Loryn to immediately contribute at a high level and effectively tell the Northstar story.”
 
Kasten joins Northstar California after five years as the public relations manager at Steamboat Ski Resort where she was instrumental in the day-to-day public relations activities for the resort, acquiring media exposure both domestically and internationally. Prior to Steamboat, Kasten served as the communications director at Durango Mountain Resort for five years and communications coordinator at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia for two years. She began her career at Ski Magazine and 97.3 KBCO radio station in Boulder.
 
“I’m excited to call California home and work with the Vail Resorts family,” said Kasten. “I look forward to sharing the Northstar story and finding new ways to gain media attention for this growing luxury, family-focused resort.”
 
Kasten will be responsible for overseeing the Public Relations department for Northstar, including serving as a spokeswoman for the resort, planning and executing public relations initiatives, facilitating media outreach, overseeing media databases and working with the Vail Resorts corporate communications team.
 
An avid skier, Kasten was born and raised in Colorado and graduated from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in News Editorial??, Public Relations.
