Brighton, Mich.’s Jackal Golf Club is renamed The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton
Epic Bruce Matthews-designed par-71 course that flows up, down and around the iconic suburban ski hill scores a new name, and upgraded clubhouse

BRIGHTON, MICH.(April, 2014) –The inspiring par 71, 6,700-plus yard championship course that meanders up and down the slopes while circling the picturesque perimeter of the iconic suburban area ski hill, formerly known as the Jackal Golf Club, has been renamed The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton.

“We felt it important to showcase Mt. Brighton itself as the dual-purpose ski/golf hill that sets the course apart from all other courses in southern Michigan,” said Larry Kuebler, Director of Golf for The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton. “The epic vistas and towering shots attained off the top of the ski hill truly make the Golf Club at Mt. Brighton a one-of-a-kind experience in this area.”

Spread out spaciously over more than 100 acres – with tee elevations for the three holes on the ski hill itself approaching 200’, golfers of all abilities feel empowered as their drives sail high above the massive old-growth oaks and gently drop down onto the meticulously-maintained bent grass fairways and greens. The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton truly gives Metro Detroit, Lansing and Tri-City area golfers an ‘up north’ feel just minutes from home.

“The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton represents everything that has made golfing in the state of Michigan an attractive destination point for golf enthusiasts around the nation,” added Kuebler. “And the new name further exemplifies the wonderful attributes that set The Golf Club at Mt. Brighton apart from other notable public courses in southern Michigan.”

The new Ore Creek Mountain Grill, previously the Bauery Restaurant, received rave reviews during the ski season for the new upscale ambiance with modern American dishes created by Mt. Brighton’s heralded Food and Beverage Director, Cameron Cosby.

“Cameron was brought on to elevate the dining experience at Mt. Brighton year-round to lofty standards, including specially designed seasonal menus, new drink lineups including local Michigan microbrews, and a new addition of a call box on the 8th allows you to order food that will be waiting for you at Ore Creek Mountain Grill at the turn,” added Kuebler.

Live entertainment will also be a new addition this summer at The Golf Course at Mt. Brighton. There are plans to hold a “Thursday Afternoon Club” with live music playing in Ore Creek Mountain Grill to allow golfers to stay after a round or non-golfers in the neighborhood to come in for some summertime fun out on the newly expanded patio and take in the views of the golf course/ski hill.

Ore Creek Mountain Grill or Ski Hill Grill and Bruhn’s Bar are now a perfect place for people to host their own event, whether it’s a golf tournament, benefit, work lunch or happy hour, or even a wedding. Mt. Brighton can host up to 350 people in the gorgeous renovated facilities.
