Vail Resorts Names Chris Sorensen General Manager of Mt. Brighton Ski Area

BROOMFIELD, Colo. – June 27, 2016 – Today Vail Resorts announced the appointment of Chris Sorensen as general manager of Mt. Brighton, where he will oversee all ski area operations. He will begin his new position on Tuesday, July 5.
 
Sorensen takes over for Taylor Ogilvie, who was named general manager of the Company’s newest Midwest acquisition, Wilmot Mountain in Wisconsin.
 
Sorensen brings 12 years of strong resort operational experience across multiple areas at both Keystone and Breckenridge. Most recently Sorensen was the senior guest experience and lift access manager at Breckenridge where he was responsible for overseeing several departments, including the Guest Service, Scanning and Epic Photo operations as well as active involvement with Skier Services and the Safety Culture Team. His prior positions bring knowledge in everything ranging from grooming and snowmaking to lift and summer operations.

Brighton.”
 
Sorensen holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a focus in international business from the American Public University System (APUS) in Charleston, West Virginia. He also holds a certificate in Human Resources Management. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, paddle boarding and adventures with his wife, his two stepsons and their family dog. He is also an accomplished obstacle racer, competing on a national level. Sorensen will soon relocate to the Mt. Brighton area with his family.
