- Snowcial Announces Its Full Day One Speaker Lineup, As Well As Headline Performance by “Band to Watch” Young The Giant
- December 16, 2011 is the Last Chance to Secure Early-Bird Pricing
Lake Tahoe, Calif./Nev., December 12, 2011 – The worlds of digital storytelling, snowsports and technology will converge at Heavenly Mountain Resort January 18 - 21, 2012 for the fourth annual Tahoe Snowcial (www.tahoesnowcial.com), a one-of-a-kind winter festival that celebrates the global community who live their passion on the snow and tell their stories online. The Snowcial Organizing Committee is proud to announce the full Day One keynote lineup, the topics of Day Two’s panels, as well as the headline entertainment.
“Once again, we expect the content coming out of this conference to be amazing, and when you consider it’s set at one of the world’s most beautiful ski resorts, it’s really a ‘can’t miss’ event,” said John Wagnon, Heavenly’s director of brand marketing. “This is the type of conference you’d expect in San Francisco, but with the added bonus of world-class skiing and snowboarding.”
The speakers for January 19, 2012:
· Joe Fernandez, CEO and co-founder, Klout
· Hope Frank, CMO, Webtrends
· Porter Gale, former-CMO, Virgin America
· Rob Katz, CEO, Vail Resorts
· Jonathon Crowley, director of media partnerships, foursquare
The topics for Day Two’s panels on January 20, 2012 are:
· Creating Engagement
· Social Media and Action Sports
· Location-based Applications
· Igniting Advocacy
· The Science of Social Media
“I'm excited to be a part of such an amazing event, and to talk with people about how foursquare is changing the media and entertainment industry,” said Jonathon Crowley, director of media relationships at foursquare. “And, as an east coast skier, it's an added bonus to experience this thing you guys call ‘powder.’”
And, in true Snowcial tradition, the event would not be complete without plenty of skiing, snowboarding, concerts, entertainment and networking. The on-mountain activities are highlighted by the Saturday scavenger hunt powered by EpicMix, Vail Resorts’ award-winning mobile and online application that digitally captures and shares your ski or ride day with friends and family.
Another Snowcial tradition is helping expose up-and-coming bands and this year is no exception. Named a “band to watch” by authorities ranging from the New York Times and Spin, to Nylon and MTV, Young The Giant has signed on to headline the Saturday, January 21, 2012 entertainment lineup. Chart-toppers in both the U.S. and Canada and a sensation on YouTube, this is a live show not to be missed.
The last chance to take advantage of early bird rates for Snowcial is December 16, 2011.
